Inside Look at the Life of Prince William, Princess Kate
William and Kate are parents to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
-- When Prince William and Princess Kate are at their Anmer Hall country home, it is a scene of happy chaos, according to a new profile of the royal family in this month’s issue of Vanity Fair.
Kate, 34, is reportedly the chef of the family, cooking their meals, while she and Prince William, 33, take turns giving baths and reading books to Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, 1.
George, who will turn 3 in July, is said to be fascinated with his tractor, loves the zoo and zooming around on his scooter and loves jumping in puddles. Like most kids, the third-in-line to the British throne also apparently prefers French fries to vegetables and runs his mother ragged with his energy.
“The kids are everything and they are amazing parents,” Vanity Fair writer Katie Nicholl told ABC News of William and Kate. “Raising Charlotte and George in extraordinary circumstances but as ordinary, little children is no easy feat.”
George, who was spotted Saturday with his mom at horse trials, enjoyed his first pony ride just after his second birthday.
“That absolutely delights William because, of course, he was on a horse from a young age,” Nicholl said.
George has been attending the local Montessori school three days a week near the family’s Anmer Hall home, but William and Kate are now said to be searching for George’s next school, likely in London.
“George will probably follow William to Wetherby Prep School,” Nicholl said of the school also attended by George’s uncle, Prince Harry. “It’s a very prestigious, very good school around the corner from Kensington Palace and where William and Harry were very happy.”
Prince William and Princess Kate are also slowly introducing Prince George and Princess Charlotte to their royal life ahead. While the couple remains busy juggling their charitable projects and increasing royal responsibilities, they are parents first.
“I think you can expect William and Kate to mirror Diana in that respect of hands-on parenting,” Nicholl said, referring to William’s mother, the late Princess Diana. “As soon as William and Kate were back from India and Bhutan, it was Kate on that school run, on that Monday morning doing the thing that every other mother does.”
Whether William and Kate will add to their royal family is anyone’s guess, but Nicholl has her own prediction.
“I think there will be a third child, absolutely,” she said. “Watch this space and to expect probably some baby news next year.”
The new issue of Vanity Fair, which features William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, on its cover, is on newsstands Thursday. The queen celebrates her official 90th birthday celebrations next week.
