Inside the Making of Bradley Cooper's Date Suki Waterhouse's Oscars Dress

Georgina Chapman explains why she chose the gorgeous gown.

March 3, 2013 — -- Suki Waterhouse was the epitome of beauty and class last night at the Oscars.

Holding hands with boyfriend and Academy Award-nominated actor Bradley Cooper, Waterhouse, 22, stunned everyone wearing a Marchesa blush gown.

Marchesa co-founder Georgina Chapman told ABC News that the model "just gravitated" toward the one-shoulder gown.

"I was really happy with Suki. She's a beautiful girl and wore the dress very well," said Chapman, who is married to movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. "With her skin coloring and her hair, I think that nude color fits her very well."

Chapman said she tailored the dress to fit her.

"Suki, well she's a great, beautiful model," she said. "You just want the fit to be perfect, just a balance of showing her wondeful figure in it and making sure she was comfortable and enjoyed the evening."

Suki's dress had re-embroidered lace at the top and her skit was a tulle skirt with different layers to make a textured skirt.

As for her beautiful white dress, Chapman, 37, said the choice of what to wear on Hollywood's biggest night was easy.

"My kids liked the white one," she said.

Especially her daughter India Pearl.

"She's in it right now in front of me," she said. "She decided it was her favorite dress ever. It's a little big for her being she's 3 years old. But she decided it's her dress and I borrowed it for the night. Now, she wants it back."
