Jaime King on How Her Son James Makes Her a 'Better' Person

With another on the way, King reflects on the joys of motherhood.

— -- Jaime King couldn't be happier.

"It was emotional in a great way for me," she told ABC News about the Gala.

King added that she loves being pregnant.

King announced that she and her husband Kyle Newman were expecting again this past February. She has been open about how her and her husband tried for four years to get pregnant with their first child, James Knight, and how motherhood has been the actress's greatest gift.

"Looking at my son now, who's 18 months, and having another on the way, it makes it even more exciting, cause I know what it's like," she said. "It feels like there's so much magic in my life. I rediscover the world through seeing this little person. When you watch and see his sense of self discovery, his joy and happiness, it makes me a much better human being."

King said no matter how hard life gets, knowing that she only has years with her son until he grows up pulls her away from the stresses and "totally changes my point of view on how I live my life."

"I just feel really blessed," she said. "When I reflect on my life ... I just realize all of your hard work and all of your perseverance and you good values and what it is that you put out into the world, will come back to you. I didn't come from a lot, but I came from a lot of love."

"The greatest gift about having her (Swift) in my life and having as the godmother to my upcoming child is just having her and everything that she encompasses," King said. "She's one of the most loving and compassionate, loyal people that I know. She is such an incredible light on this planet. The way she treats her fans and family just consistently stuns me with how beautiful she is."

King said what sums up how she feels about Swift is a speech she recently posted that the "1989" singer said while on her new tour.

"I'm practical, I'm from the Midwest, so I grew up with coupons and saving my own allowance, so I could buy something," she said. "That was how we had to live, we didn't grow up with a lot of money."

King said she is in favor of any rewards program, because as she is paying say an AT&T bill, she is earning rewards towards something practical like a tank of gas.
