James Marsden Opens Up About His New Baby
The actor welcomed William Luca in 2012 with ex-girlfriend Rose Costa.
Feb. 5, 2014 -- James Marsden is busy man. After starring in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," the actor has almost a half dozen films set to come out in 2014.
But that doesn't mean the father of three doesn't make time for his kids.
"It's one of the things I'm most proud of," the "X-Men" star, 40, told ABC News of being a father. "Work is difficult because you've got to spend time away from home, but it's always nice to come back and not have to do anything, just spend time with them."
Marsden is father to son Jack Holden, 12, and Mary, 8, with his ex-wife Lisa Linde, and new baby William Luca, 1, who he had with former girlfriend Rose Costa. He wasn't worried at all about starting over again with a new baby after almost seven years.
"Once you become a father ... it's like riding a bike -- once you learn it, you sort of got it," he said.
The actor spoke to ABC News as part of his work with Old Spice, helping the company launch a new line of men's hair care products. Marsden called his head of hair a "good asset." Most people would agree, it's pretty flawless.
"I don't really think about it that much, but I appreciate [compliments]," he said. "Back in the day when I was younger, I would just take a shower, wash with just a bar of soap, now guys are getting savvy using specific products. It's a little movement for men."
He even joked, "The guys I know probably spend a little too much time on their hair."
Working alongside the likes of Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn, Jack and Mary must be proud of their dad, right?
"When they were younger, it was strange for them to see me on screen, because they want dad to just be dad," he said.
In fact, he said his daughter wouldn't watch anything Marsden was in because it was just too real.
"Now that they are of age, it's a little more fun for them," he said. "But they are still kind of wonderfully underwhelmed by what I do. I wouldn't have it any other way. They think it's cool but beyond that, I'm just still dad."
