James Van Der Beek Recalls the Night He Let Justin Timberlake Use His ID
Timberlake was underage and needed help getting into a club.
March 27, 2014 -- There was a time when Justin Timberlake wasn't a world-famous actor and Grammy-winning singer. He was just an underage kid trying to get into a bar.
Actor James Van Der Beek once even helped Timberlake, 33, use his I.D. to get into a club, Van Der Beek said.
"I was in Vegas one New Year's," Van Der Beek, 37, told HuffPost Live on Wednesday, "and somebody came by and said, ''N Sync wants to meet you!' And, at the time, 'N Sync was the second to Backstreet Boys -- it was before they had blown up."

So, the "Dawson's Creek" star said, "OK," and met with the boy band before "Bye, Bye, Bye" and all the iconic hits.
"They were such cool kids and I immediately liked them. I remember that night, we were all going to some club and they were all too young," he said. "And so I went in and somehow passed my I.D. back so that Justin could get in with my I.D."
He added, "Justin used it to get in and then tried to pass it off so Lance [Bass] could get in. By the third time they saw a James Van Der Beek I.D., [the bouncers] were like, 'Ah, I don't think so, James.'"
