Janice Dickinson Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis
The 61-year-old model says she will "not let this diagnosis define her."
-- Janice Dickinson is opening up about her breast cancer diagnosis.
ABC News confirmed that the 61-year-old model and TV host was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. In a statement provided by her attorney Lisa Bloom, the former supermodel announced that she plans to face her cancer diagnosis head on.
"Janice Dickinson has received a diagnosis of breast cancer," Bloom told ABC News. "Janice is going to fight and she will not let this diagnosis define her. She wants to encourage all women to have regular checkups, as that is how her cancer was discovered."
"Janice feels blessed by her loving, supportive family and friends," Bloom continued.
Dickinson, one of Bill Cosby's assault accusers, has sued Bill Cosby for defamation, and the comedian's lawyers are set to argue for the case's dismissal during a hearing on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Bloom noted that Dickinson plans to be present at Tuesday's hearing.
"Janice and I will be there tomorrow morning to fight for her right to have her day in court against Bill Cosby," she said.
DailyMail.com was the first to report the news of Dickinson's cancer in an interview.
