Jennifer Lawrence Tops Forbes' Highest-Earning Actresses List
Who else made the list?
-- Katniss and Mystique have been very good to Jennifer Lawrence.
The star tops Forbes’ list of Highest Earning Actresses, with an estimated $52 million in pre-tax earnings between June 2014 and June 2015.
The "Hunger Games" and "X-Men" actress sits easily in the number-one spot, thanks in large part to her blockbuster film franchises. Lawrence also has her contract with Dior to thank.
Scarlett Johansson rose five spots to come in at number two this year, earning $35.5 million, while Melissa McCarthy clocks in right behind her with $23 million.
The "Bridesmaids" star's new clothing line got her on the list this year.
"I started to think if I could do anything to build women up rather than the constant tear down I’m going to do it," McCarthy told Forbes of her line, Melissa McCarthy Seven7, coming this fall.
For the first year, Forbes included actresses from around the globe on their list. Chinese actress Bingbing Fan was the only non-U.S. actress to make the list, coming in fourth with $21 million in earnings. Fan is best known in the U.S. for her role in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," in which she starred opposite Lawrence.
