J.K. Simmons on His Third Film With Ben Affleck, 'The Accountant'
"The Accountant" is in theaters on Friday.
-- J.K. Simmons is starring in his third film alongside Ben Affleck in the upcoming drama, "The Accountant."
Simmons also stars with Affleck in the upcoming movies "The Justice League" and "The Batman."
"Ben's riding my coattails," Simmons joked on ABC News' "Good Morning America." "His career needed a boost and I said, 'Alright, come on along.'"
In the film, Simmons plays Ray King, head of the Treasury Department's crime division, who is trying to discover the identity of "The Accountant" (Affleck) before he retires.
"Actually, I love the name Ray King cause it's kind of a Shakespearean name, he's like the little king of his little domain there in the Treasury Department," Simmons said.
"As the movie unfolds, my character is one of the ones that develops in a way that people might not see coming, I hope," he added. "It was a great script, it's a stand-alone story to me but it's very complex and interesting and I love all these characters and worse things could happen if they decided to do 'The Accountant 2.'"
