How Joe Giudice Is Spending His Time in Prison
His wife Teresa sounds off.
-- Teresa Giudice spoke to People magazine about how her husband Joe is faring in jail.
The 44-year-old husband of the 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star entered Fort Dix prison in New Jersey in March to serve a 41-month stint for tax fraud.
Having served an 11-month stint for the same charge, Teresa was released in December and said she told her husband about his upcoming time, "Just get your mind and body in check. It'll be good for you."
The couple's jail sentences were staggered so that one parent could be home with their four daughters -- Gabriella, Audriana, Gia and Milania.
Teresa, 44, said she wasn't glorifying jail, but said Joe has lost 35 pounds while trying to stay busy.
"He's running ... he lifts weights, and that's what he's doing. Just running, working out and then a lot of push-ups and sit-ups," she told People magazine.
His focus on his mind and body helps with recent tragedy, Teresa says.
"He's been through a lot with losing his dad and then me gone, it's a lot," she said.
In March, a representative of Fort Dix prison told ABC News that Joe's wake-up is at 6 a.m., followed by breakfast, with lunch later at 11 a.m. A typical lunch would include baked fish with macaroni salad and green peas, and dinner might be chicken fried rice with steamed broccoli and bread, the rep added.
During the day, Joe and the other inmates work a job; physical activity takes place when they are off duty.
