John Legend Admits He Still Hasn't Picked Out a Baby Name for First Child
The singer said he may have to wait and see his new daughter before he decides.
-- John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen only have months before they welcome their first child, but they still haven't decided on a name for their baby girl, the singer admitted.
"We have a new name every day," he told E! News. "We fall in love with it and then two days later we're like no."
The Oscar winner said he may have to wait until he meets his daughter to decide on her moniker.
"They say sometimes you have to see the baby before you're really sure," he explained.
Legend, 37, also shared what type of father he plans to be.
"I don't think the idea that girls have to be protected from men and that girls can't have their own sexual identity and freedom, I don't like that idea so I don't even want to think like that," he said. "The idea that if it's a girl, then we gotta put her in a cage, I don't believe in that.
"You just want your kids to grow up with good values and respect themselves whether they're a boy or a girl," Legend said. "They'll probably make mistakes and hopefully they'll learn from them."
The couple, who wed in 2013, announced they were expecting their first child last October. There's no word on Teigen's due date.
