John Stamos Opens Up About His 'Date' with Amy Poehler
"It was a date in my eyes," the "Full House" actor said.
-- Amy Poehler may not have known if her dinner with John Stamos some years back was a date, but the "Full House" actor sure thinks it was.
Stamos, 51, told Extra that he and the comedian are "really good friends," but in uncertain terms, he "asked her out on a date."
"I guess [Amy] didn't know it was a date. I asked her out on a date," he told the show. "And we had a really nice time. Then I hear she thought it wasn't a date. It was a date in my eyes."
This comes a few weeks after Poehler, 43, had told Howard Stern that she wasn't sure what the dinner meant.
"I remember I was at dinner with John Stamos ... and I was like, 'Oh, maybe this is a date!' ... but I blew it," she said. "I remember thinking, like, 'Oh s***, if this is really a date, I think I was wearing a Leslie Knope shirt -- I think a shirt from [the set of "Parks and Recreation."] I wasn't foxy."
Now, she's happily with fellow comedian Nick Kroll, but we can only imagine the greatness that Stamos and Poehler together could have been!
Stamos also dished on being one of the few remaining bachelors in Hollywood, not that George Clooney has tied the knot.
"He always liked being a bachelor… I guess there's only a few of us on the chopping block now," Stamos said of a married Clooney.
