Johnny Depp Injured, Needs Surgery

The actor is taking time off from "Pirates of the Caribbean" after the incident.

The actor was away filming the latest installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean" at the time, but not on set.

Depp was seen Tuesday at Brisbane airport, arm in a sling, on a plane heading back to the states. The injury to his hand will require surgery, but he's expected out for only two weeks, according to 9 News in Australia.

The outlet added that “the film won’t be delayed too much," according to a Disney rep.

The Wrap adds that the film will still be released in 2017, also according to a Disney spokesperson.

From the airport pics, Depp, 51, isn't too worries about the injury and was waving to fans with a big smile on his face.

Filming on "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" started last month.

A request for comment from Depp's rep was not immediately returned to ABC News.
