Jon Gosselin Regrets Throwing 'Mantrums'

Oct. 30, 2009 -- After Jon Gosselin's girlfriend Hailey Glassman complained about the reality star's temper tantrums to "The Insider," Gosselin told the same show he wants to make amends.

"My girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, has paid a significant price to live under such a media microscope," Gosselin told the TV show. Glassman had said Gosselin throws "mantrums" and often takes his anger out on her.

"I am grateful for her emotional support and I regret any pain that my actions have caused her as she has selflessly born the pressures I have endured under the media glare," Gosselin said. "I am committed to making things right with Hailey as well as Kate and especially my children. I ask you to please give me the opportunity to prove myself."

Glassman, 22, had told the show, "I shouldn't have to put up with being emotionally abused...I cry and say, 'Why are you so mean to me?' "

In a two-part interview, she talked about the trials of dating the father of the once picture-perfect family of multiples featured on TV's "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

"People judge me before they meet me. I get threats every day. I get called a home wrecker and a fat whore. People will stare or point. It gets worse every day."

She says that she's the first person to admit that their relationship is "not normal."

"I don't want to leave him all alone," she says. "At the end of the day, I love him but I dislike him at times. When I love someone I would never hurt them."

Jon Gosselin: I Will Celebrate Hanukkah This Year

Although his financial and career situation appears to be in flux, Jon Gosselin's religious life is not, as he gets ready to celebrate a new "plus eight": the eight nights of Hanukkah.

Gosselin, who claims he's half Jewish, said he plans to rediscover his faith and toast "family values" with girlfriend Glassman this holiday season.

"This is the first year I will celebrate Hanukkah," he told ParentDish.com in an interview posted on the site Oct. 9. "Hailey is Jewish. Everyone in my life is Jewish now, my attorney. I love it. I'm now half Jewish and half Korean. The family values are great. On Christmas, I'll see my kids during the day for a couple of hours."

Gosselin also gabbed about his love for all things Jewish, including challah bread, keeping kosher and discovering the New York City grocery store Zabar's, founded by the gourmand Eli Zabar.

"I just went through Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and learned about the New Year and every Friday is the Shabbat dinner," he said. "I love challah bread. I'm learning about Jewish food, going to Zabar's. I love that place. I'm learning about kosher and when not to order a bacon, egg and cheese and make an ass of myself. Hailey makes fun of me."

Jon Gosselin's Banking Woes

Glassman's dishing is just the latest of Gosselin's problems.In the last month, the Gosselins' respective lawyers met a court-appointed arbitrator to iron out the couple's economic issues -- namely that Kate Gosselin, who wants child and spousal support, accused her ex of taking $230,000 from the bank account.

At a subsequent hearing, a judge ordered Gosselin to reimburse the crumbling couple's joint bank account and Jon later declared that he'd returned the cash to the joint bank account he shares with his estranged wife.

Meanwhile, plans for the show are in flux. According to Radar Online, TLC will craft a few more episodes of the show with unused footage: Jon Gosselin recently forbade the network from filming any new video of his eight kids.

"Basically, we've put a halt on the show," Jon Gosselin's manager Mike Heller told People magazine earlier this month. "Jon has been talking to TLC for a long time to cut back on the production and still honor his contract -- because it's been getting in the way of his family, his children are complaining."

If Jon Gosselin changes his mind, his kids and ex-wife could be featured in "Kate Plus 8," TLC's planned spinoff of the soon-to-end series. If not, it could be a long time before the Gosselins come back to TV.
