Jon Hamm Opens Up About Rehab Stint

The "Mad Men" star says "life throws a lot at you sometimes."

“Life throws a lot at you sometimes and you have to deal with it as much as you can," he told TV Week for an article published late Wednesday. "That’s why you have family and friends and co-workers to help you with that."

"They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward," his rep added.

Hamm added during his interview with TV Week, “I’ve been very fortunate that throughout the most recent 24-hour period, I’ve had a lot of family and friends support me. I guess that’s all I will say about that."

When asked if there was any connection between the rehab stint and the hard-drinking character he plays on TV, Hamm said, "Obviously, there can be a lot of discussion about how much of this is related to that and honestly I don’t have much to say about that either."

Hamm has played ad executive Don Draper in the AMC drama series "Mad Men" since 2007.

He continued, "I understand it constitutes news these days, but it’s between me and my family and not something for public consumption.”
