Why Jonah Hill Did 'Wolf of Wall Street' For Only $60,000
The actor was paid the SAG minimum for his Oscar-nominated performance.
Jan. 22, 2014 -- Jonah Hill is now a two-time Oscar-nominated actor, but he told Howard Stern that he wanted in on "The Wolf of Wall Street" so bad, he was willing to do the movie for only $60,000 so he could work with director Martin Scorsese.
"Now on H100 @jonahhill tells @howardstern that he did the seven month "Wolf of Wall Street" shoot for $60,000 because he wanted the role so bad," the Stern Show tweeted Tuesday.
Well, it all paid off, as Hill, 30, was nominated for an Academy Award last week for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Donnie Azoff in the film.

Hill added that his salary was equivalent to the SAG minimum.
"They gave me the lowest amount of money possible," he said. "I said, 'I will sign the paper tonight. Fax me the papers tonight.' I want to sign them tonight before they change their mind."
Hill joked that he would sell his home to work for Scorsese and that it was all worth it.
"I got to f---ing be in a Martin Scorsese movie!" he added.
