Josh Duggar Enters 'Long-Term Treatment Center'
This comes days after the reality star admitted to cheating on his wife.
— -- Days after Josh Duggar admitted to being unfaithful to his wife, it's been revealed on his family's website that he has "checked himself into a long-term treatment center."
"We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, care and prayers for our family during this most difficult situation with Josh. As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear," the Duggar family wrote today.
The statement continued, "Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future."
The original statement last week came after reports that Duggar, 27, had a subscription to the cheating website Ashley Madison, which has also been in the news after it was hacked and some of its subscribers have been outed. He also admitted in last week's statement to being addicted to porn, which has since been cut from the family page.
"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife," his statement from last Thursday now reads.
Duggar, who has four children with wife Anna, has also been in the news in recent months for actions that happened more than 12 years ago. According to police reports that surfaced years later, Duggar inappropriately touched minor girls, including his sisters. He later apologized for his "inexcusable" actions and his sisters came forward and spoke about the past events.
"Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends," Josh Duggar wrote on Facebook back in May.
TLC cancelled the Duggar family's show "19 Kids and Counting" last month after the news broke.
A rep for the family has not responded to a request for further comment.
