Justin Bieber's Dramatic Week
The 19-year-old singer canceled his concert in Lisbon, Portugual.
March 12, 2013 -- intro: After more than a week of drama in the U.K., Justin Bieber has hit another bump in the road at his latest tour stop.
Bieber has cancelled the second of two concerts in Lisbon, Portugal, which were scheduled to take place Tuesday. The local promoter cites "unforeseen circumstances" on its official website as the reason for the decision.
According to reports, a newspaper in Portugal has alleged that the concert was cancelled due to slow ticket sales.
This is the latest incident for the Biebs. The 19-year-old star has lashed out at a paparazzo, started a concert two hours late and even fainted, causing some to wonder, what's going on with Bieber?
Speaking to E! News, Scooter Braun said of his star client, "There's nothing wrong with him. He's in a great place." As for Bieber's canceled concert in Portugal, Braun said that it actually happened a while ago, due to the technical difficulties of moving the huge Believe tour production from one city to another.
"It has nothing to do with anything other than that," Braun said. "Tell everyone Justin is good, really good."
Bieber has no hard feelings about what happened to him in London, including the bad press over his canceled 19th birthday bash, the concert he showed up late to, his confrontation with a rude photographer and the non-stop mocking of his, uh, "unique" outfits.
"The UK Beliebers are incredible," he tweeted. "i will be back. and i will see u again. and I am grateful for all of u. U are what made some of the other stuff ;) worth it."
Take a look at some of the Biebs' troubles in the past week.
quicklist: 1title: Bieber's "Worst Birthday"text: Bieber's bumps began on his 19th birthday. Bieber tweeted March 1 that he had a "big night ahead," but hours later the pop star told his followers that it was his "worst birthday."
The birthday boy's festivities were held at London's Cirque du Soir club. According to E! News, star guests included British singer Ella-Paige Roberts Clark and actor/rapper Jaden Smith.
A source told E! that all were asked to leave after an argument ensued between Bieber's entourage and the club's security. It was then that Bieber went straight back to his hotel.
While the cause of the argument is not known, Bieber's friend Ryan Butler tweeted, "This is unbelievable. Can't even have fun on his birthday."
#BeliebersHatePaparazzi was trending on Twitter after the incident, with many tweets blaming Bieber's ever-present paparazzi for his birthday woes.
In spite of the drama, Bieber did thank his more than 35 million followers for their birthday wishes.media:
quicklist: 2title: Stars Concert 2 Hours Latetext: British papers slammed the singer for taking the stage at London's O2 arena at 10:35 p.m. — two hours past the advertised time — on March 4, which was a school night.
Fans began booing as Bieber's two opening acts came and went, and they waited — and waited — for the singer to appear, The Mirror reported. Angry parents began tweeting their displeasure, saying things like, "Kids are having to leave as it's so late. Not fair," and, "How rude. Bieber is still not on stage at the O2 when his concert was due to finish now! Mate, it's a school night."
Another tweeted, "Who the hell does Justin Bieber think he is? Not on stage yet?! I hope everyone walks out of the O2." And yet another wrote, "Think of the children #biebergeddon. Bieber concert at the O2 due to finish in 5 minutes, he's not even on stage yet."
There were also concerns that the tube — the British subway system — would stop running before the end of the show, stranding fans at the arena.
Finally, at 10:36 p.m., the O2 arena itself apologized for the late start, tweeting, "Justin Bieber is now on stage and apologizes for the lateness of his show. It added, "Sorry to all the Justin Bieber fans for the lateness of his show tonight. The tube will still be running when the show finishes."
The day after the show, Bieber tweeted, "last night i was scheduled after 3 opening acts to go on stage at 935 not 830 but because of some technical issues i got on at 10:10..so…"
"i was 40 min late to stage. there is no excuse for that and I apologize for anyone we upset. However it was great show and Im proud of that," he added.
"i never have any intent to upset or let anyone down. and Im not okay with things being exaggerated. once again sorry for anyone upset."
