Justin Theroux Reveals How Dating Jennifer Aniston Changed His Life
"It was a learning curve," he said of suddenly being followed by paparazzi.
-- When Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston began dating in 2011, the tabloids certainly took notice.
For Theroux, that meant assuming a much more public profile.
"My life changed a lot," he told Elle magazine. "More people are like, 'Hey, man!' And I don’t think that’s from my role in John Adams. But it only changed as much as I engaged with it, and I learned very quickly: Don’t ever engage with it. Just JKL [just keep living]."

Theroux, 42, and Aniston, 45, got engaged nearly two years ago. Prior to their relationship, Theroux enjoyed a relatively low-key life, while working on high-profile projects. Learning to deal with the constant glare of the paparazzi "was a learning curve," he said.
"It wasn’t as traumatic as you might expect. It’s just annoying," he said. "Occasionally you’ll get a stewardess congratulating you, on, I don’t know, whatever, some three-headed baby we just had."
However, the tabloid rumors don't bother Theroux, who is currently writing a sequel to "Zoolander" with Ben Stiller, as much as the melodrama of the fake stories.
"I can’t get over how terrible the narrative is, just how poorly written it is," he said. "It's worse than a telenova. ... Like, 'They’re broken up, they’re together, they’re storming out, storming in, rushing out, rushing in.’ They make every celebrity look like a schizophrenic."
