Kanye West Settles Lawsuit With Videographer Daniel Ramos

Daniel Ramos originally accused the rapper of assault, battery and more.

The attorney for Daniel Ramos, the videographer allegedly involved in an altercation with West at Los Angeles International Airport last July, said that there was no need to go to court, after all.

Last July, Ramos sued West, 37, for assault, battery, negligence and interference with civil rights after the singer allegedly threw him to the ground and attempted to take his camera. The videographer sought "general and punitive damages," Allred said.

Several weeks later, West responded by claiming self-defense. The rapper was also charged with misdemeanor battery as result of the scuffle, and last year, pleaded no contest in a special plea that allowed him to maintain his innocence, according to the Associated Press. The AP also reported that he was sentenced to two years of probation, 250 hours of community service and anger management therapy.

A lawyer for West did not respond to a request for comment on the settlement.
