The Kardashian Family vs. the Paps

Kanye West is latest member of the extended clan to clash with photographers.

July 22, 2013— -- intro: Despite a paparazzo's plea to "be cool man," Kanye West apparently lost his cool and lunged at a photographer Friday at the Los Angeles airport.

It's the latest incident involving the extended Kardashian clan and the paparazzi. The Kardashians are no strangers to cameras, but when it comes to the paps, even these stars of reality television have been known to lash out.

West was not with girlfriend Kim Kardashian or their newborn daughter, North West, at the time of the incident, all of which was caught on tape.

The shutterbug, who reportedly refers to himself as Dano, can be heard on the tape saying, "Come on, Kanye, I don't want to fight you."

West is heard responding, "What you are trying to do is get me in trouble so I have to pay you like 250,000 dollars."

Moments later, the "Black Skinheads" rapper can be seen lunging at the photographer, trying to wrestle the camera out of the paparazzo's hands and putting the lensman in a headlock.

By the time law enforcement and paramedics rushed to the scene to aid the reportedly injured paparrazo, West, 36, was long gone.

The rapper's rep did not respond to ABC News' request for comment.

The alleged victim was transported to a "local hospital for medical attention," according to a statement from the Los Angeles Airport Police to ABCNews.com.

The Los Angeles Police Department is now investigating the incident and it is unclear whether West will be charged.

West made it clear recently that he doesn't like the paparazzi talking to him. At the Los Angeles airport July 12, he told a group of photographers, "I appreciate it, but don't talk. Don't talk to me. I don't want to hear paparazzi talk to me or anyone I know."

He also raps about the media in his song "New Slaves," from his current album that debuted at No. 1. "So go and grab the reporters/So I can smash their recorders," he raps.

Back in May, West went off on some snappers after he banged his head into a metal sign while trying to duck from a pack of paparazzi who were following him and his then pregnant girlfriend. His expletive-laden tirade against one lensmen who claims he wasn't among the pack was caught on tape and went viral.

Earlier this month, another member of the Kardashian clan had his own run-in with the paparazzi. Click through to read about his and some other encounters between the Kardashians and the paps.

quicklist:title: Lamar Odomtext: Lamar Odom, the 33-year-old NBA star who is married to Khloe Kardashian, was caught on camera earlier this month rather calmly chucking a photographer's camera equipment from his car into the middle of a Hollywood street. He then turned to another paparazzo's car and began hitting it with a metal camera stand. Finally he picked up some of their equipment and proceeded to walk off with it.

But before leaving altogether, he took a moment to pose for a fan's camera.

A source close to the Kardashian family told ABCNews.com that this was not the family's first encounter with one of the photographers. "This particular pap guy continuously taunts them," the source said. "He did the same thing to Rob the day before. Enough is enough!"

Odom's wife also defended her man on Twitter.

"Wow can't believe a paparazzi snuck into our gated area and violated our private property!!!! She wrote. "This becomes stalking at some point!!!!! Its wild!!!!"

Using an expletive to describe the photogs, Khloe gave a "shout out to my hubby for posing with the fans! I love my Lam!"media: 19639119

quicklist:title: Kim Kardashiantext: Since becoming pregnant with her first child, Kim Kardashian, who rarely misses a photo op, has become less patient with the paparazzi. In June, she vented on Twitter, "I wouldn't let the paps get a pic of me today & they threatened my life & said if I continue to block shots then they will make my world dangerous to live in! How dare they threaten my life & my unborn child! This has gotten way out of control!"

Kim claimed four cars driven by photographers boxed in her car so that the lensmen could take snaps of her.

"For years I've always been so gracious. Every shot they take now just isn't flattering & crazy stories get made up, so why would I willingly just let them stalk me & smile for them?" Kim tweeted. "Let me enjoy this last month of pregnancy please without threats & being scared to leave my home due to what dangerous thing they just threatened to do to me. What will it take for there to be laws to prevent this behavior?"

Finally, she wrote, "I get I live a public life. I live my life on a reality show for the world to see. I love my life, but when the cameras stop, that doesn't mean I don't want a break too. I'm 32 yrs old now, about to be a mom. I'm not 25 clubbing around LA anymore. There's no excuse for threats & stalking!"

On a recent episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," a pregnant Kim turned the tables on a photographer by pointing her reality show cameras on him outside a yogurt shop.media: 19639821

quicklist:title: Kendall Jennertext: Kendall Jenner, Kim and Khloe's younger half sister, has pretty much grown up on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and has recently launched her modeling career, but that doesn't mean the 17-year-old likes being photographed without her permission.

"there's nothing that irritates me more than when people take pics of me/my family/ or anyone in this industry and do not ask," Jenner tweeted in January.

"don't sit there taking pics of me as if I'm a statue, or an artifact in a museum. I can see you and it makes me uncomfortable," she continued. "I'm a human being and it's very rude not to ask. you wouldn't appreciate it either."media: 19639327

quicklist:title: Rob Kardashiantext: In March, a female photographer told Beverly Hills Police that she was "struck in the face" by Rob Kardashian while taking pictures of him and that he "grabbed her camera and removed the memory card," fleeing the location.

Rob was charged with battery and petty theft, but at a court hearing in May, his laywers said an agreement had been reached with the photographer and the judge dropped the charges, according to E! online. media: 19639399
