Kate Gosselin: 'Difficult' to See Jon With Kids, Other Women
"Jon & Kate Plus 8" mom has no intention of quitting reality show despite furor.
Sept. 14, 2009 -- Kate Gosselin said it was "difficult" seeing her estranged husband canoodle with other women in front of their eight children, but that she would continue to star in the reality show that includes Jon Gosselin and the kids because "every job comes with a price."
"This is definitely -- I'm not going to lie -- this is difficult," Gosselin said on ABC's "The View" today about adjusting to her new life as a single mother, including seeing Jon's girlfriends around her children.
Gosselin said despite the round-the-clock coverage of her family and regularly being hounded by the paparazzi, she had no plans to quit the "Jon & Kate Plus 8" reality show because "I'm a single mom and I need a paycheck."
We didn't go into this saying I want to be a huge celebrity. My focus is I want to support my children," she said while guest co-hosting the chat show.
Furthermore, she said, even if she did stop making the show, the public would still be interested in her personal life.
"So many people say just stop and pull out. … I could stop and I'd still have all the flack," she said.
Though Jon has been seen dating other women since the couple separated, including current girlfriend Hailey Glassman (daughter of Kate's onetime plastic surgeon), Kate said she is not currently interested in dating.
"I'm so not worried about that," she said of meeting a man.
Gosselin admitted that becoming fodder for the tabloids sometimes took its toll emotionally and that she "melted down" this weekend.
As the reality show's fifth season was about to premiere in June, allegations of cheating put the Gosselin's on a variety of tabloid covers and the couple admitted they would separate.
This season has focused on Jon and Kate each spending time with their children separately.
Jon Gosselin, who has been seen with a handful of women and partying in clubs around the world since the couple split up, recently told "Good Morning America" that he "despise[d]" Kate.
But Kate told "The View" that she would not strike back, but would continue to "take the high road."
