Katie Holmes' Braces Mystery From 'Ray Donovan' Finally Revealed on 'GMA'
The actress explains "the braces are because she has migraine headaches."
-- Katie Holmes stars in the new season of Showtime’s hit series “Ray Donovan” as a chic and cutthroat sports agent who enlists the help of Los Angeles’ top “fixer,” Ray Donovan, played by Liev Schreiber.
But there’s one burning question stealing the spotlight about her complex character, Paige Finney: What’s with the braces?
Holmes finally revealed the mystery behind her mouth full of metal on “Good Morning America” today.
“Literally, the braces are because she has migraine headaches and that helps them,” the actress explained, easing the minds of many on social media, some even using the hashtag #BracesGate.
“I think it’s definitely to show that Paige, while she does look like she has everything in order, she still is flawed,” Holmes, 36, added. “We wanted to impart right way that she’s a complicated character. She’s not exactly what you see.”
That’s for sure. Now that that distraction has officially been settled, fans can get back to their normal viewing of “Ray Donovan,” which airs Sunday nights on Showtime.
She also answered another burning question on the minds of all her loyal “Dawson’s Creek” fans, addressing whether or not a reunion would ever happen for the show that landed her on the map.
“I think we’d all have a really great time doing it,” said Holmes. “Our finale took place five years after anyway so I don’t know. It’s a wonderful question to be asked and we had a wonderful time making it, so we’ll see. We shot in Wilmington, North Carolina, which was so beautiful, so great.”
