Katy Perry Jokes She'll Be Married 8 Times
The singer channeled her icon, Elizabeth Taylor, for Harper's Bazaar.
— -- For Katy Perry, keeping up with her favorite icon, Elizabeth Taylor, won't be easy.
The singer is one of several famous women who were transformed into their iconic inspirations for the September issue of Harper's Bazaar.
Channeling the late movie star, 30-year-old Perry joked that her personal life will probably match that of the legendary actress, who was married eight times to seven different men.
"An icon transcends time. Liz was so fabulous and decadent and had a style that evolved with the years...and I’m sure I’ll be married just as many times!" Perry told the magazine.
She will have some catching up to do. Perry was married to comedian Russell Brand for two years, before the couple divorced in 2012. More recently, she has been on and off with John Mayer, and was spotted last month cozying up to the 37-year-old singer at the Grateful Dead farewell concert series in Chicago.
Other celebrities featured in Harper's icons issue include Mariah Carey dressed as Marie Antoinette, Oprah Winfrey as Glinda the Good Witch, Jessica Chastain as Joan of Arc, Dakota Johnson as Aphrodite and Willow Smith as the Hindu goddess Kali.
