Kelly Ripa Discusses Her 'Misguided' Character on 'Broad City'
"There may be booze. There may be other things," she teased.
-- Kelly Ripa has been called "America's sweetheart."
Her character on "Broad City"? Not so much.
"I play myself. I sort of play what I like to refer to as my alter-ego's alter-ego. So it's like an alter-ego twice removed," she said today on "Live With Kelly and Michael." "It is a very different version of me."
Abbi Jacobson, one of the show's stars, explained that in tonight's episode of the Comedy Central show, her character, who has been working in coat check, is responsible for returning Ripa's misplaced coat. On-set, she said, Ripa, 44, made it clear her character isn't true to who she actually is.
"It's a party Kelly Ripa. A misguided Kelly Ripa," the talk show host said. "There may be booze. There may be other things! Who knows?"
