Kelsey and Camille Grammer's Nasty Divorce Turns Nice
Kelsey and Camille Grammer reportedly strike a divorce deal.
Feb. 8, 2011 -- It was shaping up to be a battle of epic proportions. But, for the moment, it seems that Kelsey and Camille Grammer have laid down their swords.
The erstwhile "Frasier" star and the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" cast member have agreed to expedite their divorce and allow Kelsey Grammer to tie the knot quickly with his new girlfriend, according to TMZ.com.
Lawyers for the couple reportedly told a Los Angeles judge Monday that they've reached a deal to let their divorce be finalized now. They will resolve money and property issues at a later date. If the Grammers sign settlement papers this week, Kelsey Grammer could marry Kayte Walsh by the end of the month.
ABCNews.com's requests for further comment from representatives for the couple were not immediately returned.
It's a swift turn of events for the couple. Reconciliation didn't appear to be in the cards last month, when Camille Grammer alluded to radio host Howard Stern that her soon-to-be ex-husband liked to cross-dress.
Despite his currently starring in the drag-queen Broadway musical "La Cage Aux Folles," Kelsey Grammer didn't find the banter very funny.
"While it is not clear why Camille Grammer continues making public statements about her marriage to Kelsey, it is crystal clear that Kelsey will continue not responding, regardless of content," Kelsey Grammer's publicist said in a statement.
It wasn't the first time Camille Grammer, 42, waded into murky waters. On "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," the Bravo reality-TV show in which she participated last year, she kissed one of Kelsey Grammer's male friends on the lips.
Marriage No. 4 for Grammer
Even if they're on sunnier terms now, the couple's financial drama will likely play out for months to come. They never signed a prenup and, during their 13 years as husband and wife, they built up a fortune of more than $100 million in real estate, his earnings from "Frasier" and the proceeds from their company, Grammernet Productions, according to TMZ.com. If no prenup exists, Camille Grammer is entitled to half of the fortune.
Perhaps Kelsey Grammer will tread more carefully as he steps into his next marriage; his fourth. The 55-year-old actor announced his engagement to Walsh, 29, in December. He recently revealed on David Letterman's "Late Show" that he hopes they'll marry "sometime in February."
