How Does Kim Kardashian's Engagement Ring Rank?

How does Kim Kardashian's engagement ring rank?

Oct. 23, 2012— -- intro: Immediately after boyfriend Kanye West proposed, Kim Kardashian was seen flashing her enormous engagement ring.

The ring is a 15-carat diamond designed by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, a favorite of celebrities and the mastermind behind the stunning engagement sparklers worn by Blake Lively and Beyonce.

West, who is a designer himself, was involved in creating the ring from the beginning, according to the designer's rep,

"Kanye was involved in every single way. He had a vision from the beginning. He looked at a lot of stones and he wanted only the best," a rep for Lorraine Schwartz told E! online. "He and Lorraine emailed back and forth, and stayed up nights discussing how he wanted it to be. He wanted the diamond to look like it was floating on air. Everything was his idea from beginning to end."

Schwartz designed Kardashian's previous engagement ring given to her by second husband Kris Humphries. The emerald-cut diamond, flanked by a 2-carat trapezoid on both sides, weighed in at 20.5 carats. Although it might seem that the NBA player gave Kardashian the bigger rock, the rapper's diamond is considered more valuable.

"The ring is flawless. Not just internally flawless, it's flawless. It's a D-stone, the best diamond there is, type 2A," Schwartz's rep told E! "It's a perfect cushion cut diamond."

And it's reportedly worth several million dollars.

Humphries' ring reportedly retailed for $2 million and was auctioned after their 72-day marriage ended for a mere $749,000.
