Kurt Cobain's Sweater Expected to Fetch up to $60,000 in Auction

A lock of the late Nirvana frontman's hair is up for grabs, too.

The sweater will be sold via a Julien's live auction block and is expected to fetch up to $60,000.

"The Manhattan brand sweater is a blend of acrylic, mohair and Lycra with five-button closure (one button absent), with two exterior pockets, a burn hole and discoloration near left pocket and discoloration on right pocket, size medium," the cardigan's official description reads.

It will also be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by a "Cobain family friend," who donated the late singer’s cardigan to the auction.

Nirvana's MTV Unplugged appearance was filmed in November 1993 and first aired the next month. A recording of the performance was released in November 1994, seven months after Cobain's suicide.

Bidding for both the cardigan and the lock of hair will open Nov. 7.
