Kylie Jenner Opens Up About Being Bullied
"Like, every single day I see something negative about me," she said.
-- Reality and social media star Kylie Jenner spoke to Interview magazine about what it was like growing up in a famous family. Jenner, 18, admits that she deals with hurtful and negative comments all the time.
"Yeah, pretty much ever since I was nine, since the show started, there's been so much bullying towards me," she said. "Like, every single day I see something negative about me. And it's just completely torn me apart. I feel like I've lost so many amazing traits because I've listened to stupid people, ignorant people who are bullies."
Jenner said her fame has really affected her friendships.
"We were all young and I always felt like people weren't friends with me for the right reasons," she added. "They would be like, ‘You know everyone is just friends with you because you're famous,' or just weird stuff. I had a lot of friend issues throughout the years. That took a toll."
Because of that experience growing up, Jenner now keeps "a close circle" of just a few select friends.
These sentiments reflect what Jenner told Time Magazine back in October when she was named to the magazine's list of Influential Teens.
"I just want to inspire my fans to be whoever they want to be, because that’s what I’ve always done," she said. "I’m figuring out exactly what I want to do and becoming the businesswoman that I want to be. My lip kit is launching soon, and I want to have a successful makeup line. I’m becoming a woman, I have my own house, and I’m really coming into my own now."
