Lady Antebellum to Take ‘Family Time’ After Tour; Charles Kelley Working on Solo Project

— -- The three members of Lady Antebellum are taking some downtime after their successful "Wheels Up" tour, the band announced in an interview that aired today on "Good Morning America."

Member Charles Kelley, who is expecting a baby boy soon with his wife, Cassie McConnell Kelley, also revealed that he's been working for the past six months on a solo project. A new single from that project is called "The Driver" and features fellow country music singers Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay.

The song's release doesn't mean fans of the band should despair.

"Lady Antebellum is always going to be my priority ... there was just this artistic pool that I just wanted to, wanted to just try this and it was perfect timing," Kelley said.

Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, who round out the trio, also have plans for their time.

"We're going to be just really digging into songwriting and working on the next record," Scott said.

Added Haywood: "We don't know how long that's going to take, you know. We want to, we want to have a little time at home, get some good family time for a little bit."

Kelley and his wife are expecting a baby after years of infertility issues.

Kelley described the effect of those problems on his relationship with his wife.

"It ... has brought us even closer and will make us appreciate, you know, it even more when this little boy comes," he said.
