Lady Gaga Engaged: 5 Things to Know About Taylor Kinney
All about the man who tied down the pop queen.
-- Nope, he's not the singer behind "Shake It Off" and he's not the actor from the "Twilight" films.
This Taylor is the man who was able to tie down Lady Gaga -- Taylor Kinney.
The "Born This Way" singer, 28, announced her engagement on Monday, posting a picture to Instagram with the caption: "He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!"
The ring is shaped like a heart.
Here's 5 things to know about her fiance:
He's the Star of 'Chicago Fire'
Kinney, 33, is the star of the hit show "Chicago Fire" that's been running since 2012. He plays Kelly Severide, who is guess what -- a fireman. Kinney has also been featured in shows like "The Vampire Diaries" and Oscar-nominated movies like "Zero Dark Thirty."
He Can Hold His Own With A-Listers and Strong Women
Gaga blazes her own path and no one would question that she's one of the most powerful women in entertainment. But Kinney starred in "The Other Woman," winning the heart of Cameron Diaz onscreen. If playing Cameron's man doesn't give him the chops to be with Gaga, what does?
He's also close with his mother Pamela. In 2013, he took her to the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. He's also taken he to several red carpets over the years and never forgets about the woman who raised him.
"Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there! Hope you had a blessed one with your family!" he wrote on Instagram last year.
They Both Grew Up in the Northeast
Kinney was born and raised in Pennsylvania, according to IMDB, while Gaga -- born Stefani Germanotta -- was born in Manhattan, New York. Kinney graduated from Lancaster Mennonite School in 2000 then studied at West Virginia University, while Gaga went to New York University, before dropping out to do this whole music thing. It worked out pretty well for both of them.
He's Got a Musical Side
In 2011, Gaga met Kinney when she was filming her video "You and I." That's called fate! Check out their first collaboration.
Expect These Two to Start a Family
Speaking to The Times of U.K., Gaga said late last year, "“I want to have tons of kids."
"I really want to have a family and I really want to nurture my children," she added.
