Lena Dunham 'Free' to Flaunt Her Curves on Memorial Day
"Girls" star exercises her freedom to show off her lingerie on Memorial Day.
-- Lena Dunham celebrated a different kind of freedom on Memorial Day -- by posting a photo of herself in her lingerie.
"Love my @lonelylingerie and I think I will wear it to dinner with some boots & a smile because we are all very lucky to be free," she joked on Instagram.
Though the "Girls" creator and star tries to promote a body-positive image, she has admitted to her own personal struggles.
"I spend a lot of my career trying to break down the negative forces that the media exerts on women in trying to control their body image, so for me it’s all very sort of anathema to who I am to admit that I too have struggled with the concept of perfection," Dunham told ABC News' "Good Morning America" last fall.
For their Memorial Day dinner, Dunham's boyfriend, Jack Antonoff, appeared more covered up.
Dunham, 29, posted a snap of the musician wearing black pants and a shirt with a maroon blazer and gold medal. She captioned it, "Holiday Swagger."
