Lin-Manuel Miranda Takes His Final Bow in 'Hamilton'

The creator of the award-winning show, who originated the role of founding father Alexander Hamilton, will be succeeded by his alternate, Javier Muñoz.
Recent Tony Award winner Leslie Odom Jr., who played Aaron Burr, and Phillipa Soo, who portrayed Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, also delivered their final performances tonight.
“I’m leaving because I have other opportunities that are going to need my mental real estate,” Miranda explained last month, according to The New York Times.
Those projects include starring in a sequel to "Mary Poppins" alongside Emily Blunt, which will keep him in London for much of next year, and finishing "The Hamilton Mixtape," an album of "Hamilton" covers and songs inspired by the show.
Still, Miranda, 36, who won two Tonys for his work on the musical last month, said he wants to rejoin "Hamilton" again in the future.
“This is a role I am going to be going back to again and again,” he said, according to The Times. “I plan to revisit this role a lot.”
