Where to Listen to Prince's Music
Most of Prince's music is not available on YouTube or streaming sites.
-- The world lost a musical legend on Thursday.
Prince, 57, recorded 39 studio albums, but most of his music is not available on YouTube or streaming sites like Spotify. Last year, Billboard reported that the prolific singer removed all his music from most sites, except Jay Z's TIDAL.
So, where can you pay homage and enjoy his classic hits?
Here is a quicklist of all the sites and all the stations that are trying to help fans out.
TIDAL - It's all there. "When Doves Cry," "Little Red Corvette" and more. TIDAL requires a subscription though, but there is a free trial for 30 days.
iTunes - If you want to purchase full albums, this is the way to go. Again, you can't stream or listen for free, but these will be songs you can hang on to forever.
Hoopla - You'll need a library card, but Hoopla let's you listen to Prince's classics if your local library participates in the website's services.
Sirius XM - The digital radio service created a tribute channel for the Purple One.
"SiriusXM’s The Prince Tribute Channel, will air on Ch. 50, featuring music from the vast body of artistry from Prince’s entire career, including his earliest recordings through his most recent release HITnRUN Phase One," a press release on the site stated.
VH1, MTV, BET - All three will be hosting Prince marathons, including his famed film "Purple Rain."
