Oscars 2022 recap: 'CODA' wins best picture, Will Smith wins best actor after Chris Rock confrontation

Here is a full timeline of everything that occurred at the 94th Academy Awards.

The 2022 Oscars have come to a close.

"CODA" was the big winner of the night, taking home the Academy Award for best picture, while Jessica Chastain and Will Smith won best actress and actor in a leading role.

Winners who made history Sunday night included "The Power of the Dog" director Jane Campion, who became the third woman to win best director, and Troy Kotsur, who became the first deaf man to win an Academy Award for acting.

Much of the night’s attention will undoubtedly be on Smith after a confrontation with Chris Rock on stage after the comedian said made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Stars hit the red carpet at 94th Academy Awards

Laverne Cox, Lily James, Sebastián Yatra, Tracee Ellis Ross and more have arrived at the 2022 Oscars.

Ahead of the big show, stars are showing off their glamorous looks on the red carpet. Ross is wearing a head-turning, strapless red gown by Carolina Herrera, nominated songwriter Diane Warren is sporting a bright green suit and “Pam & Tommy” star Lily James is wearing a pink gown by Versace.

While walking the carpet, Jamie Lee Curtis, who is presenting, held a blue ribbon in support of refugees.

Jamie Lee Curtis to pay tribute to Betty White

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, told ABC News that she will be presenting a tribute to Betty White during the show. Curtis, who is wearing a Stella McCartney gown, said she chose a McCartney dress because the designer is an animal rights activist just like White.
