'Magic Mike XXL' Nearly Had Another Name
Cast reveals the other name being considered during an appearance on "Kimmel."
-- It's hard to imagine a more perfect name than "Magic Mike XXL," but it seems producers were considering calling the hotly anticipated sequel something else.
Five stars of "Magic Mike XXL," Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash and Adam Rodriguez, stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Sunday to give the audience a little inside scoop on the filming of the movie.
"Who actually came up with the title Magic Mike XXL?" Kimmel asked.
"I actually thought the Internet did and I was wrong about that," Tatum replied. "It was [executive producer Steven Soderbergh]. I don't know. Apparently he's been thinking about the title a lot."
When Kimmel asked if there were other titles being considered, Tatum revealed, "There was one, and it was 'Magic Mike: The Road to Myrtle Beach.'"
The talk host laughed and said, "I think you made the right decision."
Kimmel also wanted to know if shooting the second film was easier "now that you'd seen each other naked in the first one."
Rodriguez agreed that it was "definitely easier."
"I think we got that out of the way early on in the first one," he said, referring to the 2012 film "Magic Mike." "I think this one we were actually looking forward to seeing each other naked."
Bomer joked, "We have no boundaries left, and I can't even smell the smell of self-tanner anymore. My olfactories are just gone."
Professional wrestler Nash was more bothered by the waxing.
"My first buttock, they started to go towards the cavern and I said, 'I'll pretty much take this at home,'" he said. "When they started to wax my glute, they kind of do it repetitively, and I'm thinking, 'How much is she getting?' It looked like Lassie was getting groomed!"
Earlier in the day, Tatum, Bomer and Rodriguez, made a surprise appearance at Los Angeles' annual gay pride parade.
They not only rode on a special "Magic Mike XXL" float, they showed off a few of their dance moves.
In one Instagram video, Tatum, wearing cargo shorts and a rainbow-striped bandana, could be seen twerking as the float rolled past screaming fans.
