It all started Saturday when a fan asked him if his signature on a comic book was real or fake.

Soon, other fans were asking him to confirm whether his signature on various items was a forgery or the real deal.

In a word- NO. I'm so sorry there's so many fans spending their hard-earned money for fraudulent signatures. #FAKE https://t.co/717Bv02ASA

That one is REAL- go for it! (but only at a reasonable price!) #Authentic https://t.co/SxZw59MDti

The 64-year-old actor encouraged his fans to study the signatures he was authenticating on his feed so they could learn to spot the phonies.

Sadly, another fake. Look at the signatures I verified to learn to spot the forgeries for yourself.#BeatTheDealers https://t.co/HFndM0Al1Z

Memorize this REAL signature and you can start spotting the phonies yourself! #BeatTheDealers https://t.co/yB0aVXY74E

REAL: now USE THIS EXAMPLE to judge any signatures you might contemplate buying in the future. #BeatTheDealers https://t.co/hFNQwO8eVR

Asked if he was getting tired of repeating himself, Hamill said no.

Because I owe it to all true fans to protect them from being victimized by dishonest dealers!#FightFraud #FansRule https://t.co/aXk6zBMCAs

But he was a bit embarrassed by some of the jokes he made alongside his signature years ago.

Sorry to admit it's REAL. (Seemed funny at the time... what was I thinking'?)#BeatTheDealers #BadGag https://t.co/plKF9hGaPD
