The chef is planning to do a half-marathon in July.
May 27, 2014 -- Congratulations are in order for Graham Elliot after the "MasterChef" judge ran his first 10K since losing 150 pounds.
"Celebrating the premier of #MasterChef by running my first #10K," he wrote on Instagram. "Thx @gordanramsay @jbastianich for the support and encourage!"
Elliot, who lost 150 pounds after undergoing a sleeve gastrectomy last year, is planning to run a half-marathon in July.
According to People, Elliot, 37, finished in about 1 hour, 16 minutes.
"The big thing for me is being able to run and talk at the same time," he said. "My trainer said focusing on a steady pace and being able to hold a conversation is a big thing. It’s a good way to be more in the moment.”
Running has become a passion for Elliot, who ran a 5K last year. He's also reevaluated his diet and is down to 250 pounds from nearly 400 pounds. However, "I have put on a lot more muscle," he noted.
"My arms are really strong," he said, "and I’ve been very healthy."
