Meryl Streep and Mamie Gummer Discuss 'Ricki and the Flash,' Look Even More Alike Than You Realized

-- Meryl Streep and her daughter Mamie Gummer appeared in "Heartburn" together, and now, nearly 20 years later, they're co-starring in the upcoming movie "Ricki and the Flash."
Collaborating was a piece of cake, according to the Oscar winner.
“I’ve been working with my daughter for 32 years,” Streep told Women's Wear Daily. "I was blown away. I’m not objective — I think she’s fantastic. ... But I think other people have corroborated that.”
In the movie, Streep, 66, stars as a rocker who tries to be there for her adult daughter, played by Gummer, 32. And while Gummer added that she and mother are hardly their characters, their on-set dynamic "wasn't as strange as one would think."
"We were greatly aided by the fact that there were these indisputable traits that I’ve inherited," she noted. "There was a shorthand in terms of that."
