Michael Buble Admits, the More Famous I Got, the Less I Wanted Kids
The singer shares his worries about being "an absentee father."
March 18, 2014 -- At 38, Michael Bublé is a happily married dad.
However, those aren't necessarily roles that the singer always dreamed of assuming.
"The further I got into this business and the further I got into fame and all the wonderful trappings that come with it, the less I wanted to be a father, the less I wanted to get married," he said on "George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight."

However, Bublé ultimately did get married in 2011 to Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato. She gave birth to their son Noah, last year. For the singer, choosing Lopilato to be his life partner was obvious.
"I fell in love with my wife. She's a great person and it's weird, I wanted to get married to her... [but] did I want to get married is another [question]," he admitted. "It's a scary commitment to me."
"By the time I hit my thirties, marriage was out. ... I just looked at my friends who got married and went, 'Why?' Especially friends who got married and didn't have kids," he continued. "I just had to go through a bunch of stuff and get to a point in my life where I was ready."

Now, the singer said he's glad he made the decisions he did ("I couldn't have known it was going to be as good as it is," he gushed), but it's not always easy. Juggling a grueling tour schedule with having a family can be problematic, he said, especially because his wife also has a demanding career schedule.
"Even when she was pregnant, I was like, 'Am I good enough? Am I going to be a good dad? Am I going to be an absentee father?'" he said. "It's a tough conversation. It's something we struggle with daily."
