Michael Jackson's Family Honors Him on the 7th Anniversary of His Death
"Let Him #RIP," pleaded sister La Toya on her social media accounts.
-- La Toya Jackson was among the Jackson family members who took to social media Saturday morning to honor the seventh anniversary of her brother's death.
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, in Los Angeles at the age 50.
In recent weeks, a new crop of salacious rumors have plagued his legacy. La Toya made a nod to this, by pleading with fans to let the "Thriller" singer rest in peace.
She posted a photo of Michael on Twitter, writing, "Please! May We All Let Him #RIP! #MichaelJackson The #KingOfPop June 25, 2009."
La Toya also took to Instagram, posting a similar message, but with a different photo.
Michael's daughter Paris paid tribute to her dad on Instagram with a creating a photo collage featuring images of them together, including what appears to be a Photoshopped picture of what the pair might look like if they posed together today.
"7 years, rest in peace, my best friend in the entire universe," Paris wrote. "i love you more than anything,” she wrote in a touching note. She continued on to address the recent pornography collection allegations against her father. “things may be a little shitty in the press right now but everyone knows it's all bull and i swear on the family name i will protect you for as long as i live. there's no one like you, and there never will be. thank you for touching millions of hearts, but especially my own.”
Michael's nephew Taj Jackson followed suit, tweeting, "7 years ago we lost one of our brightest lights and it has been a darker world ever since."
