Miranda Lambert Upsets Fans After Showing Off Floor-Length Fur Coat

The country music singer received the floor-length coat from her grandmother.

Lambert, 32, captioned the photo: "'I'm so fancy... You already know' my Nonny gave me two of her fur coats! I definitely know where I got my love for DIAMONDS, FUR and WHISKEY! #familytradition #grandmastreasures #besthandmedownever #wandathewanderer #bringitwinter."

While some fans admired her gift, others blasted the self-described animal lover on social media for being hypocritical. Lambert has been open about her love for animals. Her Christmas card this year even featured all of her dogs; five in total.

"Absolutely disgusting," one comment read, while another said, "Fur is cruel."

Lambert seemingly tried to quell the criticism by explaining why the fur coat was so important to her: It was given to her by her grandmother. She posted a photo of the two smiling in front of a Christmas tree soon after sharing the offending photo.

"Her name embroidered inside is priceless," Lambert's caption read. "A family heirloom I will cherish forever. I'm so thankful for her and all the things I have learned from her. Nonny is strong, beautiful, feisty and most of all, loving."
