'Mission: Impossible' Movie Tops the Weekend Box Office
The thriller earned more than $40 million more than the second place movie.
-- Earning the top spot at the weekend box office was anything but "Mission: Impossible" for Tom Cruise.
His fifth film in the series, "Mission: Impossible -- Rogue Nation," opened in first place, earning an estimated $56 million.
The weekend's other new film, the comedy reboot "Vacation," didn't fare nearly as well. The Ed Helms flick collected just $14.9 million from Friday through Sunday. It has made 21.2 million since opening last Wednesday.
The previous box office champ, "Ant-Man," fell to third place, with $12.6 million raised during the weekend.
