After Sunday's game, the award-winning rapper wrote on Twitter, "I cried because I've been thru so much but I'm still here & thru the grace of God & u the fans believing in me I love y'all."
She also thanked her "peers" for their outpouring of support and re-tweeted congratulatory messages from Busta Rhymes, Justin Timberlake, Kerry Washington, Lil' Kim, Demi Lovato and Timabaland, among others.
Missy Elliott performed a medley of three of her hit songs, "Get Your Freak On," "Lose Control" and "Work It" during Sunday's performance.
Hours after the performance, Elliott's singles were among the most popular downloads on iTunes.
