Natalie Portman's Baby With Benjamin Millepied Tops Off Banner Year

Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied welcomed a baby boy Tuesday.

June 15, 2011 — -- For Natalie Portman, the baby is pretty much the icing on the cake.

On Tuesday, the 30-year-old actress welcomed her first child, according to People magazine. She had the baby boy (name yet to be revealed) with her fiance, dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

It's been quite a year for Portman. Her critically acclaimed turn as a talented but deeply damaged ballerina in "Black Swan" led her to win her first Oscar -- for best actress -- in February. "Black Swan" is also where she met Millepied, a 34-year-old French principal dancer for the New York City Ballet.

She gave Millepied a special mention when she accepted her Oscar, gesturing to her belly as she said he's "now given me my most important role of my life."

Portman's Hollywood roles still persist. She starred in the comedies "No Strings Attached" and "Your Highness," the comic book flick "Thor" and the drama "The Other Woman," all of which came out after "Black Swan."

Often tight-lipped about her personal life, Portman hasn't shared when -- or if -- she and Millepied plan to exchange vows. In December, after announcing her pregnancy and engagement, she told Entertainment Weekly, "I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience."

What's next for Portman? The short answer: It's anyone's guess. Backstage at the Oscars, ABC News asked her how motherhood might change her career.

"I really can't say what's going to happen," she said. "I have no idea what to expect. It's just accepting that I have no idea."
