'Friday Night Lights' Then and Now

April 30, 2013— -- intro: "Friday Night Lights" fans may have a reason to cheer: star Connie Britton says there's still hope for a "FNL" movie.

"I would love it to happen. I'm a big supporter of it happening. I don't know if we will see it or not," Britton, who played the Coach Taylor's wife Tami, told E! Saturday at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

"I know it was being written and (creator) Peter Berg is really serious about it, so I think if everybody got on board, I don't see why we couldn't have a movie."

Ever since the critically acclaimed football drama -- based on a book and a film of the same name -- ended a five-season run in 2011, there's been an effort to return the series to the big screen.

Adrianne Palicki, who played town vixen Tyra Collette on the show, recently hinted at the possibility of a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the film. But Britton's onscreen hubby, Kyle Chandler, wasn't so sure about adapting the series to film.

"I still like watching the show again, because it was so creative, the process. But they ended it at exactly the right time, in exactly the right way as well," he told MTV in December.
