Parents of 'Star Trek' Actor Who Died Express Thanks for Condolences in Full-Page Ad
Anton Yelchin starred in three movies, was 27 when he died last month.
-- The parents of Anton Yelchin have taken out an ad to express their gratitude for the support they've received following the death of the late "Star Trek" actor last month.
The full-page ad from Irina and Viktor Yelchin was published in The Hollywood Reporter and features a black-and-white photo of their son.
Yelchin, who was 27, was found dead June 19 in the driveway of his Studio City, California, home after he was pinned by his own 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee between a mailbox pillar and security fence.
The ad reads, "Thank you to all of you who have sent flowers and gifts, for your condolences and kind words and to all who came to celebrate the life of our dear son, Anton. We are deeply grateful for your unconditional love."
The message continues, "He would be surprised at how many hearts and souls he touched."
The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office ruled that Yelchin's death was accidental, caused by "blunt traumatic asphyxia."
Yelchin played Chekov in three "Star Trek" movies, including the new film "Star Trek Beyond," which opens Friday.
