Phoenix Meteorologist Laughs Off Impossibly Hot Forecast

The TV weather map showed temperatures over 1,000 degrees

To the laughs of his coworkers, the meteorologist, Cory McCloskey of FOX 10 Phoenix, was able to cool the forecast by jokingly calling for evacuations.

“1,270 in Ahwatukee,” McColskey said, referring to the temperature showed onscreen for a Phoenix neighborhood. “I’m not authorized to evacuate Ahwatukee but this temperature seems pretty high.”

“Frankly Wickenburg is a total loss,” McColskey continued, pointing to a town with a “Right Now” temperature of 2,385. “You might as well just get out…Surprise is starting to heat up as well at 1,350 degrees.”

“Again, I’m not your dad, but I would get out while you still can,” the meteorologist joked.

The non-mistaken temperatures in the region ranged from 50 degrees to the high 60s so the high heats appeared to be mostly just the result of an added two digits here and there.

“In the world of live news sometimes technology just doesn't cooperate. That's why it's important to have smart people who can handle the heat. That's what you get on #fox10phoenix,” the Facebook post reads.

McCloskey also shared the video on his own Facebook page, writing, “And then sometimes THIS happens…”
