8 Photos of the Novogratz Family's Newly-Transformed Hollywood Hills Mansion
"9 By Design" stars Robert and Cortney Novogratz show off their new home.
-- Robert and Cortney Novogratz, of the series "9 By Design," became famous for raising their seven children in a home they stylishly decorated in New York City.
However, the design team couple and their brood have left the Big Apple to embark on a new adventure: renovating a castle in the Hollywood Hills for a new web series, "The Castle Next Door -- The Novogratz Family Takes Hollywood," streaming now on People.com.
Ultimately, the cross-country move has brought the family even closer, the patriarch told ABC News.
"We have our own tribe. It was us against the world, so we all stuck together," he said, adding that the move was meant to take the kids out of their comfort zones. "We were doing a lot of design work in California and we felt like, 'Let's mix it up for a few years and see how the other side of the country lives.' It's how we do everything: walking the fine line of bravery and stupidity."
For several months, the family renovated their new castle, tearing down walls and opening up the space. This past winter, they were finally able to move into the four-bedroom home.
"We wanted something unique, with a yard for the kids. [Also], we have amazing views," he explained. "We can walk to Starbucks and we have four or five places we love [nearby], and as a New Yorker, that’s the best thing in the world."
While the full renovation will be revealed on their new series, which was produced by Madica Productions and People Productions, here is a sneak peek of what to expect from the former HGTV stars' new home:
