Pink Speaks Out About Perceived Feud With Demi Lovato
Pink slammed the VMAs, on which Lovato performed.
-- Pink found herself in a Twitter feud with Demi Lovato fans Friday.
In a post on her private Instagram page, which has been shared by several outlets, the "Raise Your Glass" singer wrote that the MTV Video Music Awards made her sad because "this trash won't save any kids [sic] life."
Lovato, 23, who performed her song "Cool for the Summer" during the broadcast, seemed to take it personally.
"Cool For The Summer may not 'save kid's lives' or 'inspire' but I'd say Skyscraper & Warrior have done a pretty good job of helping people cope with mental illness," she tweeted. "VMA's are sexy and fun. There's a time and place for everything."
Pink, 35, claimed that she never meant to start a feud with Lovato. Hers was not the performance she was referencing, she added.
"You know, this is part of why I'm sad about the VMas and the world in general. Everyone is so nasty and waiting for a fight," she wrote. "I never said anything about Demi Lovato or called out anyone. I was talking to a friend in response to his disappointment about the show. I agree w him."
"You can make this into whatever you like, cause that's who we are now, I guess," she concluded. "I'm out."
