Prince Takes Top Two Slots in Billboard 200

The icon died last week at the age of 57.

The "Very Best of Prince," a 2001 compilation featuring well-known tracks like "1999," "Purple Rain" and "When Doves Cry," is number one on the chart. It tallied 179,000 equivalent album units for the week ending Thursday, including 100,000 album sales.

One of the possible reasons for the growth in album sales is that Prince's music is hard to find on streaming services outside of Tidal and iTunes.

The "Very Best of Prince" is now his fifth album to top the Billboard 200, and the first since his 2006 album "3121."

The "Purple Rain" soundtrack ranks second on the chart, with 69,000 equivalent album units sold, including 63,000 album sales.

The 1993 triple-album "The Hits/The B-Sides" is sixth, with 41,000 equivalent album units, including 24,000 album sales.
